Serve day 2017

We are a church that believes in serving our community. On Saturday, July 15th, from 9am-12pm we are going to have a church-wide serving day as we take part in 6 serving projects throughout the Downtown area of Tampa. Our hope is that we can have over 150 people serving in these 6 projects and making an incredible impact on our community by showing the love of Christ to everyone we come into contact with. We will meet at Blake High School at 8:30 to let everyone know the final details, receive their Serve Day shirts, and go from there.

Our 6 serve opportunities will be:

- Blake High School

- Adopt-A-Road

- Pancake Breakfast (Full)

- Bayshore Water Outreach (Full)

- Metropolitan Ministries (Full)

- Homeless Breakfast (Full)

You can find out more about each of these events below.

Serve day 2017 projects

  • Blake High School

We have been so blessed to open our second location at Blake High School and we want to give back to the school that has been such a great host. We will be doing some much needed painting of classrooms as the school prepares to go back into the 2017-2018 school year.

    People needed: 40

  • Adopt-a-road

This serving project will help to make the Downtown area beautiful. We will focus the efforts of this project in the areas surrounding Waterworks Park, just across the Hillsborough river from Blake High School. All supplies are being provided by our partner Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.

    People needed: 30

  • Pancake breakfast (FULL)

There are several apartment communities around the Blake High School area, and we want to be able to get to know the people who live there and serve them at the same time. With this serving project we will be going into one of these communities and setting up an area to serve some pancakes to the people who live there, as well as share who we are as a church and find opportunities to pray for them.

    People needed: 20

  • bayshore/Downtown water outreach (FULL)

Bayshore is one of the most beautiful and busy roads in Tampa. It also is very popular for people want to exercise. This outreach will allow us to bless these people with some cold water as they make their way down Bayshore and let them know who we are as a church.

We will also go into the Downtown area of Tampa and hand out waters at Curtis Hixon and Waterworks Parks.

    People needed: 25

  • Metropolitan ministries (FULL)

We have an amazing opportunity to support Metropolitan Ministries, located in Downtown Tampa, by helping organize donations in their warehouse. This ministry impacts the homeless and those in need in the Tampa Bay area.

  • Homeless breakfast (FULL)

We have had a great partnership with First Presbyterian Church in the Downtown area, and we will continue to partner with them through our serve day in helping serve breakfast to people in need.

    People needed: 10
