Aaron Burke first felt God’s call on his life at sixteen years old while on a mission’s trip to Nepal. Here, his eyes were opened to the love of God not only for himself, but also for a hurting world in desperate need of a Savior.
After graduating from Southeastern University in 2005, Aaron spent time in Sri Lanka and India: working at orphanages, assisting with tsunami relief efforts, training pastors, and conducting village outreaches. He then settled in Pensacola, Florida, and opened a thrift store to raise funds for foreign missions. In addition, he also served as Student Ministries Pastor for six years, overseeing middle school through college-aged students. During this time, Aaron obtained his Masters in Business Administration. In 2010, he married his wife, Katie, and they now have two beautiful daughters, Lily and Annabelle.
At the beginning of 2013, Aaron and Katie took a major step of faith. Feeling the call to plant a church, they moved into South Tampa and started the process of building a team from scratch. The mission was to reach the 87% of Tampa that is completely unchurched. After months of recruiting, praying, and strategizing, Radiant Church was officially launched on September 15, 2013 with 348 people in attendance.
Aaron and Katie have been living their dream ever since. They are continually amazed how God has used this local church to display the love of Jesus, develop disciples, and help people discover their God given purpose. They firmly believe that the best is yet to come for Radiant Church and Tampa Bay!
Katie Burke currently serves as the Care Director of Radiant Church. Using her degrees in Psychology and Nursing, she leads our focus on caring for those in need who are part of the Radiant family.
